A Credible, Straightforward Buyer for Owner-Led Businesses

KPD Group works with business brokers, property agents, accountants, IFAs, and professional advisors introducing owner-led businesses and property portfolios across the UK.
We are a direct buyer — not a search fund, not a panel of investors, and not a firm that requires committee sign-off before making a decision. When an introduction is a genuine fit, we move.
Our aim is straightforward: to be a reliable counterparty who protects your client relationship, keeps the process confidential, and completes what we agree to.

How We Work

Models
We operate with a practical, measured approach designed to protect owner confidence and advisor reputation.
You can expect the following from every introduction:
  • A clear and prompt response — we will tell you quickly whether a mandate fits and why
  • Full confidentiality — owner identity and business details are never shared without your consent
  • Respectful engagement with your client — we do not go around advisors or renegotiate introductions
  • Transparent deal progression — you will know where things stand at every stage
  • Your fee protected — we document referral arrangements in writing before any introduction proceeds
  • A decision-maker in the room — you will always deal directly with the principal

We value straightforward transactions, handled properly.

Our Acquisition Focus

Models
We acquire across five platforms. Introductions are welcomed across all of them:
⚙️ Engineering & Manufacturing — Owner-managed businesses, asset-backed, turnover £2m–£15m, succession-driven
🏥
Regulated Care — CQC-registered supported living and residential care providers, property-backed, Good or Outstanding rated
🏘️ Residential Property Portfolios — Incorporated HMO, buy-to-let, and serviced accommodation portfolios. Single lot acquisitions, chain-free, entity-level funding
♻️ Waste Management & Environmental — Contracted, permit-protected operations with route-based recurring revenue
🔧 Specialist Support Services — Engineering services and compliance FM businesses with recurring contract revenue

If a business aligns with these areas — and the owner values a thoughtful transition — we’re happy to explore.

What Makes a Good Introduction

Models
The strongest introductions tend to share the following characteristics:
  • The owner is considering retirement or a planned exit within the next 12–24 months
  • The business or portfolio is operationally established and owner-managed
  • Continuity — for staff, clients, tenants, or residents — is a priority for the owner
  • The owner values a direct, discreet process over a widely marketed sale
  • The business or portfolio clears at least one of our three acquisition tests: asset-backed, contracted, or regulated

We are equally comfortable with full exits, partial exits, and phased transitions where the owner wishes to remain involved for a defined period.

We are not the right buyer for start-ups, project-dependent businesses, or businesses reliant on a single contract or customer.

Referral Arrangements

Models
We recognise and reward introductions that lead to a completed transaction.

Referral fees are agreed in writing before any introduction proceeds — typically structured as a percentage of the agreed transaction value, paid on completion. The specific rate depends on the nature of the introduction and the platform.

We do not pay referral fees on speculative or unqualified introductions. We do pay promptly and in full on every completed transaction where a prior written agreement is in place.

If you would like to discuss referral terms before making an introduction, we are happy to have that conversation first.

Process (Simple and Predictable)

Models
A typical introduction follows a clear and predictable sequence:
  1. Initial confidential discussion — you share the headline details, we confirm fit or decline promptly
  2. Referral fee agreed in writing — before any owner introduction takes place
  3. Owner introduction — at a pace and in a manner that suits your client
  4. Initial review — non-invasive, based on information already available
  5. Offer and progression — clear heads of terms or formal offer issued promptly where we are satisfied
  6. Completion — with full transparency and communication throughout

We aim to give every introduction a clear answer within five working days.
